MICHAEL MORRIS

Principal, Morris Wade Associates, Inc.

Mr. Morris has more than 40 years of project/construction management experience in the United States and around the world. His expertise includes scheduling, construction cost estimating, value engineering, and quantity surveying on national and international projects. He lived in West Africa for several years before moving to the United States in 1970.

Most recently he was the principal at Michael Morris Associates, which he founded in 1995. Prior to that, Mr. Morris was President of Hanscomb (now Hanscomb Faithful & Gould), a leading firm of cost consultants and professional project managers.

Mr. Morris has worked on more than 30 U.S. Embassy facilities since the 1970s, including security upgrades worldwide, market surveys, estimating, scheduling, and manpower loading and he currently holds secret clearance (previously a top secret clearance) from DISCO. He served on a committee of the National Academy of Sciences Building Research Board (BRB) formed to develop new guidelines to protect U.S. embassies against terrorist attacks and electronic surveillance. He also chaired a committee of the BRB formed to recommend improvements to the Federal Government budgeting and cost management process.

Mr. Morris has written several articles about international construction costs and methodology and has presented to the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors on construction techniques in the United States. He is a 1957 graduate of Leicester University in England with a degree in Quantity Surveying.
